AI SUPERVISORY CONTROL FOR INDUSTRIAL FERMENTATION

FermentDT is an AI supervisory control system — a digital twin — for industrial fermentation. Developed by Atomic47 Labs, it layers neural-network soft sensors, predictive modelling, and model-predictive control on top of the PLC/SCADA systems already running a plant, inferring what physical sensors cannot measure and steering each batch toward a target curve rather than a static setpoint.

Rather than replacing existing automation, FermentDT operates as an optimization layer over it. A live hybrid model of each vessel fuses fermentation mechanism with machine learning, learning the process from plant data and staying accurate in the small-data regimes real production environments actually operate in.

The platform flags stuck, sluggish, or contaminated ferments early — catching divergence while there is still time to act — and returns setpoint recommendations the operator stays in control of. It connects at the plant floor through standard industrial interfaces, with no new hardware and no rip-and-replace.

FermentDT brings a class of capability historically confined to pharmaceutical bioprocessing to food, beverage, and industrial fermentation — vendor-neutral by design, and sized for pilot deployment rather than multi-year rollouts.
